Pagewise Privacy Policy
Developed by Novus HQ · Package: app.novushhq.pagewise
Effective and updated: October 25, 2026
Summary
Pagewise is a PDF reader, editor and scanner. PDF processing takes place on your device, and we do not upload your documents, images, extracted text or PDF passwords to Novus HQ or to advertising services. No account is required. Starting with the ad-supported update, Pagewise includes Google AdMob advertising and Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) for privacy choices. These services use the internet and process advertising-related data as described below. Earlier ad-free versions do not include these advertising features.
Advertising and data collected by Google
Pagewise displays adaptive banner ads, occasional interstitial ads at natural breaks after completed tasks, and optional rewarded ads. Completing a rewarded ad grants one hour without ads. Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and share your IP address (which can estimate approximate location), app and ad interactions such as launches, taps and video views, diagnostic information such as performance and errors, and device or account identifiers such as the Android advertising ID and app set ID. Google uses this information for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. Advertising data is encrypted in transit using TLS. We do not send the contents or names of your documents to AdMob.
Depending on your region and privacy choices, Google may serve personalized, non-personalized or limited ads. Non-personalized ads can still process data for delivery, measurement and fraud prevention. Google's handling, retention and deletion of advertising data are governed by its policies. Read Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses advertising data.
Consent and ad privacy choices
Where required, Google's UMP presents a privacy message before ads can be requested. You can revisit available choices through Settings → Ad privacy when that option is required in your region. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings and manage Google ad preferences through My Ad Center. Withdrawing consent does not prevent local PDF processing, although the ads available to support the app may change. We store consent preferences and the expiry of any earned ad-free period on your device.
Documents and images you open
You choose every file Pagewise works with through Android’s document picker, photo picker, “Open with”/“Share” from another app, or the system camera app. Pagewise reads only the items you select. To process a file it may make a temporary working copy in the app’s private cache; you can remove these copies at any time with Settings → Clear temporary files, and Android may also clear the cache.
Files Pagewise creates
Results such as merged, split, compressed, watermarked, locked or converted PDFs, exported images and text files are saved on your device in Documents/Pagewise (on Android 10 and older, in Pagewise’s own app folder). They are not uploaded anywhere. You can open, share or delete them in the Files tab or with any file manager. Files in Documents/Pagewise remain on your device if you uninstall the app.
Camera and scanner
Pagewise uses Google's document scanner through Google Play services to capture and crop pages. The scanner may download required components. Pagewise does not request its own camera permission or access your camera in the background. Scanned pages are used to create the PDF you save; they are not sent to our servers or advertising services.
Passwords
Passwords you enter to lock, unlock or read a protected PDF are used only on your device for that operation. They are not stored or transmitted. Pagewise cannot recover a forgotten password.
Stored on your device
Pagewise keeps your settings (theme, default compression and similar preferences) and a list of files you imported or favorited, including their names and access links, in its private app storage. This list never leaves your device.
Sharing
When you tap Share or “Open with another app”, Android hands the file to the app you choose. That app’s privacy policy then applies to the copy it receives.
Android device backup
If Android backup is enabled, Android may include Pagewise’s settings and file list in your own device backup under your Google and device settings. Novus HQ cannot access that backup.
Retention and deletion
Remove items from the Files list, delete saved files, clear temporary files in Settings, or clear app storage / uninstall Pagewise to remove its private data. Files in shared storage and Android backups may need to be removed separately. Novus HQ has no server copy of your documents. Google determines retention of data collected by its advertising services; use the Google privacy and ad controls linked above for that data. Email support to request deletion of information you have sent us directly.
Children
Pagewise is a general productivity tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information directly. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact support so we can address it. The advertising SDK is configured to request ads rated G (general audiences); this content limit does not make Pagewise a child-directed service.
Security
Android’s app sandbox protects Pagewise’s private storage. Locked PDFs use AES-256 encryption. Files you save to shared storage can be read by you and by apps you grant access to, so keep sensitive documents protected.
Contact and changes
If you email support, we receive only what you choose to send and use it to reply. Please don’t attach sensitive documents unless necessary. Changes to this policy will be published on this page with a new date.
